Introduction
I have just been (re-)reading two old books published in 2006 by SAS Institute.
It has been a quite interesting reading as you could get the idea of that not much has changed since then.
Quote from one of the books:
A company’s success in managing its information is a function of infrastructure, (knowledge)process, people and culture, all working in concert.
Observing the hype about AI and ChatGPT makes me wonder if we have forgotten the human factor, when making decisions…
Another quote from the books back in 2006:
The technologies that were supposed to be CURE-ALL failed to resolve root business issues, because the interdependencies of people, (knowledge)process and culture had often been overlooked.
With the present threat scenarios in using our global internet, some business owners might benefit from slowing down, prioritize an internal audit of the company platform in terms of these interdependencies and then evaluate the outcome before rushing to a decision.
Using another quote from the books:
The productivity-building tools that enables your organization to design, develop and deliver faster than ever are doing the same for your competitors.
and linking this to the present threat scenarios, then this could be rewritten to something like:
When a component integrated with the infrastructure is reported being hacked due to a flaw, then there is a high risk for that you are next in line…
Have you ever considered what the impact for your business might be, when a company like Microsoft gets hacked?
What you will need is a holistic approach while evaluating the outcome of the review.
Here mind mapping can be very useful in documenting how the dots are connected – sometimes a drawing provides the information and overview much more rapidly than a written report.
We can help you in building this overview in a mind map owned by you.
We work with inspiring clients, so can you introduce us to your business, your present challenges and your intended budget in less than 30 minutes? 🤔
